The Nordic Walking Coach Association (NWCA) was founded in 2001 in Los Angeles, California, USA by a multinational group of independent nordic walking trainers who wished to promote the discipline of nordic walking, a sport that originates from Finland. NWCA
concentrates its activities on conducting courses and workshops on nordic
walking, teaching people of all ages the correct technics of this health
oriented sport that is rapidly spreading throughout the world. The objective
of NWCA is to improve people's physical condition. Physiotherapists, chiropractioners, healthpractioners, orthopedists and nutritionists should definitely join NWCA and be trained as nordic walking coaches to improve their patient's physical functions. It is also an excellent idea for personal fitness, athletic and personal trainers to include this total body-workout sport in their training program. They should become nordic walking coaches too. In the summer of 2002 NWCA has begun to appoint Sport Directors and to license some of their international members as Chief Trainers who will establish continental and national NWCA divisions in their own continents or countries and conduct train-the-trainer programs in order to expand the network of highly qualified nordic walking coaches. For further information about beginner, advanced and special courses or trainer-seminars in Europe and/or NWCA membership please send an eMail to NWCA European Division at: info@nwca.de
